成立五年的 ELC(Embedded Linux Consortium) 於 2005 年 9 月 8 日落幕，併入 OSDL。 這個組織最大的貢獻，就是 ELC Platform Specification (ELCPS) 雖然這個標準受到相當的歡迎，可是由於沒有明確的目標，最後還是沒有更新，我引用 Shohat 先生的話: "The standards process foundered. I have always felt it was a victim of the recession that descended in 2003. There were pregnant areas to be explored, and we prepared a short list of next engineering tasks, such as improved power management, and a GUI. But we were never able to pull together the resources to get it done." - Murry Shohat 那麼，ELCPS接下來會如何呢? 沒有人知道，雖然 Shohat 先生一直抱持正面的態度。不論如何，未來的 Embedded Linux World，剩下兩個重量級的聯盟: OSDL VS. CELF
